Amazing pet-friendly Tucson home with heated pool and lots of other amenities
I found Sabino Velo last minute after the original place I booked in Tucson fell through and I couldn’t have been happier with this turn of events for my family’s extended Covid escape! Everything in Sabino Velo is brand new, sparkling clean, and beautiful and the house is in a really nice residential neighborhood at the end of the street. The location was perfect for us, close to Sabino Canyon and hiking, but also lots of shopping very close by, like Whole Foods and Target. The house is all on one level and is very open and spacious with three bedrooms, all with large closets. The house is kid-friendly and pet-friendly, with a small totally fenced in heated pool. The kitchen is lovely with plenty of counter space, open shelving, breakfast bar, and brand new appliances, There are also tons of items for enjoying cooking and baking away from home (like a roasting pan, rolling pin, pie plates, and the basics like flour, sugar, and spices). Probably the most well-appointed kitchen of any rental I’ve ever stayed in. I also appreciated the thought that went into providing items like Ziplocs, aluminum foil, cleaning supplies and other household necessities like that often missing from rentals. The mud room/laundry room was one of my favorite parts (especially to someone who lives in an urban area); huge room with four cubbies, extra cabinets and shelving, and of course the laundry. The house has lots of amenities like a garage, Sonos, and a desk with a docking station. The backyard is amazing and enormous, with a propane grill, large fire pit, and lots of seating options (like Adirondack chairs around the fire pit). It was absolutely perfect for socially distanced backyard gatherings, including dinners and marshmallow roasting (with an entrance from the driveway). My husband, myself, my sister-in-law and my four children all worked and did virtual school from Sabino Velo for a few weeks and we honestly didn’t want to leave. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out, including working in the yard in a sunny patch (and plenty of wifi). The owner was extremely responsive and helpful with any questions. This will be our go to place on future trips to Tucson for sure. A definite gem.
